CAYMUS

Based in 60 acres of prime Napa Valley territory,
the Rutherford District, the Wagner family
produces some of the most carefully crafted
Cabernet Sauvignon in California. Producing their
first wine in 1972, the Wagner’s grow only
Cabernet, allowing them to focus exclusively on
this varietal and to develop groundbreaking
viticultural practices.
Caymus make two wines, Cabernet Sauvignon Napa
Valley and Special Selection Cabernet Sauvignon
Napa Valley. The unifying feature of these wines
is 'the goal of a balanced wine that tastes
delicious when bottled but can improve with age,'
and the attention that goes into the winemaking
process – maceration times, type and toast level
of barrels and maturation periods being some of
the variables.
Wine Spectator has awarded Caymus “Best Winery for
Cabernet Sauvignon or Cabernet blend in
California” and the owner, Chuck Wagner, is in the
Wine Spectator’s highly lauded Hall of Fame.
